About Lumara
I'll be straight with you: Lumara isn't a big company. It's a first business, run by a 19-year-old in Hull, built from the ground up because I couldn't find a product I actually wanted to exist.
The idea came from a simple, frustrating observation. People spend hundreds — often thousands — of pounds on a TV, then leave it completely exposed. Kids, pets, footballs, thrown remotes, games controllers, everyday accidents. And here's the part most people don't know until it's too late: a cracked TV screen can't be repaired. Only replaced. One bad second and a £1,000 television is gone.
The protectors already out there didn't convince me. Thin acrylic that cracks, held on with cable ties, marketed on clarity when the whole point should be protection. So I set out to build the version I'd actually put on my own family's TV.
Every Lumara panel is made from Palram PALSUN optical-grade polycarbonate — the same material used in riot shields and aircraft windows. Its real advantage isn't that it's clearer than acrylic (honestly, acrylic is a touch clearer). It's that it's virtually unbreakable. It absorbs and deflects the impacts that would crack or shatter glass or acrylic. Every panel is precision-cut and finished in Yorkshire, quality checked, and designed to fit in under two minutes with no tools, no drilling, and nothing stuck to your screen.
A new 55" TV costs £600–£1,200. A Lumara costs £129. Once.
Because I'm doing this myself, you're not emailing a call centre. When you get in touch — to check a size, ask a question, or sort a problem — you're talking to the person who runs the whole thing. I answer every message personally, usually within a few hours.
This is day one of something I care a lot about getting right. If you protect your TV with a Lumara, you're not just buying a panel — you're backing a small British business finding its feet. And I don't take that lightly.
Thank you for being here.
